EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy

EMDR is a structured therapy approach designed to help process distressing or traumatic experiences that continue to affect emotional well-being. It supports the brain’s natural ability to heal by helping memories become less overwhelming and disruptive.

What this approach focuses on

EMDR focuses on how unprocessed experiences can remain “stuck” in the nervous system, continuing to trigger emotional and physical responses in the present. Using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or other rhythmic cues, therapy supports the safe processing of these memories. The approach is paced carefully, with an emphasis on stability and safety throughout the process.

How it can support you

EMDR can help reduce the intensity of distressing memories, emotional reactivity, and physical responses linked to past experiences. By allowing experiences to be processed more fully, this approach supports relief, increased emotional regulation, and a greater sense of ease in daily life.
