Autism/ASD

Neurodiversity

Living with autism means experiencing the world through a different sensory, cognitive, and social lens. Autism is not a deficit, but a difference in how information, communication, and stimulation are processed.

Indicators

Autism may show up through sensory sensitivities, social or communication differences, a strong need for routine or predictability, or feeling easily overwhelmed by noise, crowds, or unstructured environments. You may experience social fatigue, difficulty interpreting social cues, or a sense of being misunderstood despite clear intentions. Over time, masking these differences can lead to stress, anxiety, or burnout.

How therapy can help

Therapy can support greater self-understanding, emotional regulation, and navigating daily life in ways that respect neurodivergent needs. The goal is not to change who you are, but to reduce distress, support self-advocacy, and build strategies that make life feel more manageable and sustainable.
